i've recently started singing and drumming again. it was hard but it came back to me after a few run-throughs. kinda like riding a bike!

here's my dilemma. i have an older AGK headset mic from like 11 years ago. it works fine, but my sound man said that it's an omnidirectional mic and it was picking up alot of my residual drum sounds, i.e. snare, cymbals, toms..(he also mentioned that they don't make this mic anymore.) he recommended a mic that had a pickup pattern that was more unidirectional and that it would help solve this problem. my sound engineer recommened beyerdynamic head set mics but i forgot to ask him why. i thought this might be a great opportunity to see what other brands and models the brothers from the HOD might suggest as well as your experiential insights. thanks in advance.
